Apple now has more $$ in Cash that the USA does → business.financialpost.com

Look, I don’t want to post this. I really don’t want to be the one to bring you crashing back to reality first thing in the morning. (And on a Friday too!) But seriously, this shit is ridiculously serious and it affects each and every one of us.

And yeah, I know the numbers aren’t directly comparable but we should all be taking this as a warning shot across the bow. Corporations are outpacing our own government and they have been for a while. We might rely on our iPhones to get our pix to Instagram or our iPads to curl up in bed with to watch the latest episode of Intervention on Netflix, but these are all luxuries. Luxuries we might need to support our lifestyle but definitely not essentials given the grand scheme of things.

The point is that these companies are moving harder, better, faster, and stronger than the government that we need to keep our daily existence intact. Boner (Boehner?) and Obama are turning this into a game of politics but all our lives are on the line. Meanwhile these companies, are playing their game smarter and faster than ever before.

You know, faster than those public schools that bring you nothing but Facebook reminders of the social life you once had as a teenager while they in fact teach your children how to read.

Faster than the PS3/Xbox gaming console that gets hogged by the kids when they come home from said Facebook reminders while you secretly long for the glory days of hiding from your parents and playing the 2600. So you go post some nostalgic pix on Tumblr and wait for your work days to end so your Social Security kicks in and you can retire with a cushy job as a Wal-Mart greeter.

Faster than the check from your insurance company that covers only part of the medical bills you incurred after being hit by a driver (on your way home from work) that didn’t cough up the legally required fee to a private corporation to cover an accident like this.

These corporations are moving faster every day and with all that they bring to the tableĀ  (Disclaimer: I own products from everyone I’ve mentioned. #inb4hypocrite) - the things that sustain us and give us the architecture to move forward are swayed, the same way that we are, by their shiny objects.

Our government is failing us right now.. so much so, that the dude who lets you listen to music at the gym as you run on your human hamster wheel now has more money on hand than the 1st world power you live in and pledge allegiance to.

Seriously.. Think about that.

Sorry for ruining your day.

in the fade: so let me get this straight. → inthefade.tumblr.com

inthefade:

A business raised their prices and people are fucking furious.

So, for $15.98 a month - $7.99 more than you are now paying if you have both the DVD and streaming options - you can watch as many fucking movies a month as you want.

For eight bucks more - less than the price of a DVD, less than…
